West Harbour Highlights
2.5 hours
$300 group of 4

Start by browsing the quaint harbour-side hamlet of Port Chalmers where former buildings of the 1800s have been transformed into cafes, restaurants and quirky businesses. Then discover some of the most special and threatened wildlife in Aotearoa/NZ at Orokonui Ecosanctuary, including kākā, takahē, tuatara, jewelled geckos, Otago skinks, and Haast tokoeka (kiwi). A drive to the small beachside villages of Pūrākaunui and Long Beach allows superb views of the harbour, ocean and surrounding hills, before finishing with a bite to eat (and maybe a refreshing pint!) at the Carey’s Bay Historic Hotel.
The tour starts at 9am, with collection from either the Cruise Ship Wharf in Port Chalmers, the Octagon in Central Dunedin, or your accommodation.
